How to book Warner Bros. Studio Tour London from London in 2026: timed tickets, coach vs. the Euston train, refund rules, Hogwarts in the Snow dates and on-the-day tips.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter is one of the most popular days out from London for a reason: you walk the actual sets, from the Great Hall to Diagon Alley. It's also easy to get wrong. Tickets are timed, sold in advance only, and non-refundable if you buy direct. Here's how to plan it properly for late 2026.

1. Lock in a time slot before anything else

The Studio sells entry by time slot, and it says it doesn't hold tickets back for sale on the day or over the phone. So don't plan the rest of your London week first and hope to squeeze the Studio in. Pick your date, secure entry (direct, or through a package that includes it), then build everything else around it.

Your slot is a 30-minute entry window, not a tour start time: you can walk in at any point during it. If you're going to arrive after your window closes, contact the Studio rather than just turning up.

2. Decide how you'll get there

The Studio is at Leavesden, near Watford, outside London. You have three realistic options.

Ticket + coach package (easiest)

A coach picks you up in central London, you get Studio entry, and you're driven back. The package from Premium Tours, leaving from Victoria or Marble Arch, is the most-reviewed Studio package, rated 4.45 across 4,204 reviews, from $122. Expect about four hours inside and roughly 7 hours door to door. It isn't escorted inside the Studio; you explore at your own pace.

DIY train from Euston (most flexible)

Take a direct train from London Euston to Watford Junction, about 20 minutes, then the Studio's electric shuttle bus, about 15 minutes more. The shuttle is included in your entry ticket, runs at least every 30 minutes from 9:20am, and the last one leaves when the Studio closes. Stopping trains also run from Euston but take longer, so check you're on a direct service.

The Studio confirms Oyster pay-as-you-go is valid between Euston and Watford Junction. If you'd rather tap a contactless bank card, check the fare on TfL first.

Escorted train or a guided small group

Want the train's flexibility without the navigating? City Wonders UK meets you at Euston and escorts you out, with timed entry and an open return ticket, from $161. The same company's fully guided version adds an expert guide inside the Studio for groups of up to 8, from $184. You can compare every option side by side on our Harry Potter Studio Tour hub.

3. Read the refund rules

Tickets bought direct from the Studio are non-refundable. You can change the date for a £10 administration fee, by phone and before your visit, subject to availability. Group tickets can't be changed at all.

Packages sold through Viator refund in full if you cancel early enough, but the cut-off varies: 24 hours for the escorted train package, two days for the guided small group, three days for the main coach packages, and a full week for the Studio + Oxford combo. If there's any chance your plans will shift, that difference matters more than a few dollars on the price.

4. Time it around the seasonal features

The Studio dresses its sets differently through the year. In late 2026:

  • Dark Arts, the Halloween season, runs until 8 November 2026.
  • Hogwarts in the Snow runs from 14 November 2026 to 17 January 2027: the Great Hall set for a Christmas feast, the Gryffindor and Slytherin common rooms decorated, a frosted Forbidden Forest and the castle model under snow. The extras are included in the standard ticket price.
  • Dinner in the Great Hall events run on selected December dates and are ticketed separately.

Hogwarts in the Snow is a strong reason to visit in November or December. Pair it with the rest of the festive city in our Christmas in London guide.

5. On the day

  • Allow time. The Studio says the average visit lasts about three and a half hours and there's no time limit. Coach packages typically give you about four hours; extended options stretch to five or six.
  • Budget for extras. The coach packages from Premium Tours and Golden Tours Gray Line London both exclude the Digital Guide, which you buy separately at the Studio. There's a Food Hall, and Butterbeer is on sale.
  • Pack light. Premium Tours notes that luggage can't be left on its coach but can go in the Studio cloakroom, and bag searches may apply.
  • Book the right age band. At least one operator warns that Studio staff check children's ages at the door and will refuse entry on the wrong ticket.

Where to stay for an easy Studio day

If you're going DIY, stay near Euston. Bloomsbury puts you a short walk or Tube ride from the station, and close to King's Cross for a Platform 9¾ photo. Several coach packages leave from Victoria instead, so if you've already booked one, base yourself there. Our where to stay in London guide compares the neighborhoods.
